Unique Handcrafted Quilled Cards

Unique Handcrafted Quilled Cards

F.A.Q.

F.A.Q.
  1. What is quilling? Quilling is an art form that was used by French and Italian nuns and monks during the Renaissance to decorate book covers and other religious items.  Quilling uses strips of paper that are rolled, shaped and glued together to create simple or elaborate decorative designs.  Quilling was very popular in the 18th century and examples of it can even be found from Colonial times.  Today, quilling is growing again in popularity.
  2. What makes a quilled card so unique? Each design is hand rolled using specialized tools, paper and glue.  No templates are used.  The time it takes to craft each card depends on the complexity of the design.  True to handcraft nature, no two cards will be exactly alike.  Colors may vary slightly depending on photograph lighting and computer monitors.
  3. Can I mail my card? You certainly may!   Request “Hand Processing” from your postal service.  They sell a “Non-machineable” surcharge stamp that helps to avoid machine processing damage.  For the majority of our cards, your total postage will be no more then  .71cents.
  4. What size/color cards do you use?  Each card listing will give you card measurements as well as card color.  Your card will look like the card pictured, unless otherwise requested.
  5. Can I order a custom card? Yes. Most orders may be customized to suit. If you see an item that you like but you want another color combination or want it on a different card (thank you, thanks or blank) please contact me.
  6. How long will it take to get my card?  Because our cards are made to order, most cards will take 3-5 business days to produce.  We suggest ordering your card at least one week in advance if you have a custom order.  Advance notice is always appreciated for orders of more then one card.
  7. Where can I purchase your cards?  Currently, we sell our cards at the following locations:
    • On our website:  www.tidbitsandtutus.com
    •  Facebook: Tidbits and Tutus
    •  Belle Kitchen OKC located at 7509 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (closed Mondays & Tuesdays)
    • Coming to Scissortail Gifts at Santa Fe this month!  Their new location is located at 120 S E.K. Gaylord, in the Santa Fe Train Station
    •  More locations coming soon!
    •  **If you are interested in selling our cards in your store or boutique or having us come to your event or pop up shop, please contact us for more information.  We are excited to work with you!
  8. Do you have suggested wording for writing inside the blank cards?  Yes!  We would love to share some ideas with you!   Please feel free to use any of our suggestions and please, send us your ideas too!  We would love to hear from you!
