Aguas Frescas or “Cool Waters” are very popular in Mexico during the spring and summer months.
They are typically made of some fruit, grains, seeds, water and sugar. There are so many variations. They are often sold out of large glass jars by street vendors or small taquerias. Our favorite recipe is very simple. We like it on the tart side so we don’t add all of the sugar called for in the recipe. Give this recipe a try. Use your favorite fruit, make fun combinations, add more sugar or less sugar. The sky’s the limit!
